So, we told Jason's kids - they were so happy. I don't know what I was so worried about - they have made it very clear that they like me a lot. And for some reason, Jason thinks it's a good idea to start getting them every other weekend - even if he's at work. Yes, that means that Janice has to entertain two 11 year olds and a 13 year old for several hours. Last time, we went to the park and to the dam (and we took the dog) and we had a really good time. Then went back home and I cooked a really good dinner - roast in the oven. YUMMY!!!
And that means that this weekend, I get them, but only on Saturday. Jason is off on Sunday & Monday, so thankfully, he'll be around most of the time they're with us. I hate that they come to be with him and he's off at work, but as long as I'm still getting along with them, I guess it's OK. Oh, I do have a little funny story about last time... we went to the grocery store and Kendra is poking her finger in the hamburger meat packaging. She's not puncturing the wrapping - just making little finger-indents in it. I asked why she was poking her finger in other people's food and she said she's not - she's just playing around. I explained that someone else was going to buy that, therefore it was someone else's food. So she quit. Then, we get to the check-out and Kelsey picks up a Hershey bar and starts breaking it into pieces - inside the wrapper. So I go through the whole spiel again - that's someone else's food - I'm certainly not buying it. Jason says maybe that's how they get their mom to buy them candy and stuff because she feels guilty about leaving it on the shelf. Nope, not me - I don't mind at all. Especially if I was able to teach them a little something in the process.
One more thing - Jason & his mom are talking again. That's good. And I met his dad on Sunday. Not quite like I pictured, but at least I can now say that I've met him. We tried to visit his sister, but she wasn't home. I guess it will be some other time when I get to meet her.
