  • Allergies - take II

Ok, so I left my desk about 2 yesterday afternoon to go get allergy testing. I walked outside and up to my car --- and realized my lock was damaged. I opened the door and saw my dashboard pulled back over the gear shift and my radio missing. Sad. Very sad. Bandit was vandalized. Yes, that's my car's name.

We have a video surveillance system here, but of course, I park just beyond it's reach. I don't want anyone looking at my rear-end on that camera!!! We do have a shot of a car coming up, backing into the spot beside my car and leaving about 5 minutes later. No one here knows whose car it is (that they're admitting), and we did get the license plate number. I'm a lot less worried about finding the guy as explaining to him how very stupid he is.

See, this guy should be on that stupid thief TV show. He took the Sirius satellite radio that was wedged in the little cubbyhole above the actual radio. Also wedged in that hole, in the back, was my wallet. When I got in the car, I didn't even think about that until I saw the cubbyhole laying in the passenger seat. Then I almost quit breathing. I picked it up and my wallet was still there - wedged into the back of that little cubbyhole. I think I really like typing the word cubbyhole.

I didn't even notice until this morning that he also took my make-up bag!!! Seriously? The guy leaves the wallet and steals the make-up? What a very not smart thief!!!

I know that I am very fortunate that he didn't look around any more in the car - I had credit card bills, my wallet, even bank receipts from deposits I'd made. He left it all. He only took the radio, the Sirius radio, and my make-up. When I called Sirius to ask if there was any way to track it or find out if someone else was using it, since the receiver thing is tied to my account, she said they didn't have that capability. But when I told her it had been stolen, she looked in my account and apparently I have some sort of coverage for that and they're sending me a new one - for free! And my insurance company is awesome - I've always known it, but now I really feel like I'm in good hands - with State Farm!!! HA! They've got me set up with a body shop who got everything squared away for me to get a rental car. For the next few days while they fix my car, I get to drive a 2007 Toyota Camry. I don't like that it's an automatic, but everything else about it is great! I sure will miss Bandit, though. I really love my car!

And to top off everything else, I had to reschedule the allergy testing for next Thursday. I was more upset about that than the radio!

Oh, and since I can't go too long without typing it - GO STEELERS!!! Even if I can't listen to them on the radio since I don't have the Sirius right now. That just means I'll be in front of a TV tomorrow night hoping with all my might that they can stop Jacksonville and go on one more week. GO STEELERS! GO BIG BEN!! GO HINES WARD!!! IT'S YOUR GAME!

I'm sorry Bandit got robbed. I'm also sorry the Steelers got eliminated from the playoffs.

Me, too!!! But life goes on! They're fixing my defroster, I'll get a new radio, and Willie Parker will be well by next year! I'm still proud of them with a new coach going so far and doing so well!! It could have been much worse. Now, I'm totally for Eli Manning!!! :) Until he plays Green Bay - then I have a dilemma. You can't have two Mississippi quarterbacks playing against each other - it's just wrong. But oh, how I want the Cowboy's to lose! They're too cocky this year. Of course, I'm also very glad that the Jags play the Pats! I'm actually pulling for Jacksonville now! Yeah, I'm one messed up fan!!!

The good news is, only four more months until CUBS season!
